Brain Dead Symphony is back with another winner.
It’s called “Just Let Me Be,” a glorious synthpop/electronica single that somehow manages to feel both retro and futuristic at the same time. It’s the type of alt-dance tune that should appeal equally to old-school post-punk/new wave fans as well as young ones, who have never even listened to New Order. (But, please, if you have never heard a New Order tune then correct that situation immediately.)
Brain Dead Symphony is the nom de plume of Diego Cisternas, who originally hails from Barcelona, Spain but has lived in the Bay Area since the age of 12.
Now based in Brentwood, Cisternas has made music for decades and opened shows for such popular ’80s and ’90s acts as A Flock of Seagulls, Midnight Oil, Level 42, Men Without Hats, Berlin, Alanis Morissette, No Doubt and Garbage.
In addition to making his own music, the multi-talented Cisternas has also worked as a painter, publisher, composer, business consultant, writer, entrepreneur and music producer over the years.
