Man suspected of robbing Mangrove Avenue bank leaves with cash – Chico Enterprise-Record

CHICO — A man robbed Tri Counties Bank in central Chico and got away with an undisclosed amount of money Friday, officers from the Chico Police Department said in a press release.

According to the police, a man who wore a mask approached a teller at the branch at 780 Mangrove Ave. just after 5 p.m. and produced a note, demanding cash. The teller gave the man cash before the suspect fled in an unknown direction. Nobody was physically injured during the incident, police said, and nobody in the bank saw a weapon.

The first police officer arrived at the bank within two minutes of dispatchers receiving the call, with several other officers arriving a short time later.

Witnesses said the suspect was an adult male with medium build, wearing a gray corduroy jacket, sunglasses and a mask.

Police detectives requested that anyone with information about the robbery should call them at (530) 897-4900.
