The Miami Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau was conducting *** death investigation that was *** result of *** helicopter crash. According to investigators, the witnesses were stating that they saw what appeared to be *** helicopter that was spinning and falling. It was flying very low because that’s, that’s how initially I realized something was happening. It was flying very low near our property. I have horses and you know, everybody moves around when the aircraft gets too close. Over 10 fire rescue personnel units personnel responded over here with air rescue South to conduct an aerial canvas of the area because of the fact that as you can see, you can clearly not see the helicopter. So they were searching. That’s when they, according to witnesses, there was *** female that came out of the water and that’s when the fire rescue personnel died, went into the water to search for an additional person that perhaps was still inside of the helicopter. They were able to pull out an additional person. *** male, they were both transported via ground by Miami Dade fire rescue to *** local hospital. Unfortunately, the male succumbed to his injuries. The female is expected to survive.
