LOS ANGELES, CA — Police in Los Angeles arrested a 27-year-old man suspected in a string of armed robberies across Los Angeles County, culminating in a wild police chase in which he tossed cash and loot out his car windows, police announced Wednesday.
The Dec. 20th chase ended with the arrest of Amauje Ferguson 27, of Nevada, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Ferguson entered a convenience store in the 500 block of West El Segundo Boulevard at around 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the chase and stormed behind the counter where he pointed a gun at the store clerk, according to police.
Ferguson attempted to flee as officers arrived on the scene leading to a chase in which Ferguson threw clothes and money out the vehicle window during the chase, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Detectives determined to be money taken from the heist and the clothes were the same worn by Ferguson during the armed robbery, police allege.

He was taken into custody at the termination of the pursuit.
LAPD Southeast area robbery detectives allegedly discovered that Ferguson was responsible for an additional robbery in the 5000 block of Wilshire Boulevard about two hours before the armed theft on West El Segundo Boulevard.

Police said Ferguson was also suspected of robbing another convenience store on Dec. 18 in the 800 block of West Rosecrans Avenue.
Ferguson was arrested and booked without bail on suspicion of three counts of robbery, which were filed Friday by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
