The Fairfield Police Department made a series of theft related arrests over the holiday week — “Operation Christmas Thieves” — including four from Solano and Napa counties in connection with over $1.5 million worth of stolen goods between Dec. 22-27.

Five of the suspects — four under suspicion of burglary — were arrested on Dec. 22.

“The first four arrested were detained after an officer working the operation spied two men leave the store with a shopping cart full of items they hadn’t paid for,” the release read. “During the ensuing traffic stop, it was discovered that there were four occupants in the getaway vehicle.”

36-year-old Tavani Cole, 29-year-old Nehmia Hatchett, and 34-year-old Rashad Brown and 27-year-old Gregory Carson were all arrested on the first day. Carson also had an outstanding warrant in Solano County.

When the group was being booked into Solano County Jail, a Vallejo officer recognized them as suspects in two other robberies worth over $1.5 million. Vallejo police then arrested the four at the jail on their own charges.

Vallejo’s Jeffery Fagan, 39, was also arrested on Dec. 22. Already on probation for theft charges in Napa and Solano counties, he was booked on suspicion offor a probation violation and petty theft.

On Dec. 27, the department arrested one of four teens who were seen stealing in the Solano County Mall.

“In total, six people were arrested during the operation and, while the number arrested may seem low, they were all heavy hitters who have caused devastating losses to local businesses,” the release read.
