Kyle Juszczyk was one of nine San Francisco 49ers selected to the Pro Bowl on Wednesday night. He solidified a record in the process.
The 32-year-old earned the eighth Pro Bowl designation of his career. As noted by ESPN’s Nick Wagoner, that’s the most ever by a fullback.

That's the most by a fullback in league history.

Only one fullback gets chosen per conference, but Juszczyk has garnered the honor every season since 2016.
As the position fades closer to extinction, Juszczyk has maintained a role on the NFC’s top-ranked offense. He has 125 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns while helping Christian McCaffrey lead the league in rushing.
Wagoner noted last month that just 12 teams have played a fullback on offense this season. Juszczyk has played more snaps than anyone at the position by evolving beyond the spot’s traditional confines to line up as a tight end or wide receiver.
“I take a ton of pride in that,” Juszczyk said. “By me showing that I can do it gives a lot of these other guys on other teams opportunities where they’re like, ‘Oh, maybe we could use a guy like that.'”
A flag football contest may not require a traditional fullback, but Juszczyk nevertheless remains a Pro Bowl staple. However, he’s not the most experienced participant on his team. Left tackle Trent Williams received his 11th consecutive nod.
San Francisco’s Pro Bowl selections will hope to be preparing for the Super Bowl during Orlando’s Pro Bowl Games, which run from Feb. 1-4.
