City council will honor GGUSD – ORANGE COUNTY TRIBUNE

Sometimes one government agency takes some time to salute another.

At its first meeting of 2024, the Garden Grove City Council on Tuesday will devote its Community Spotlight to recognize the Garden Grove Unified School District for its accomplishments in 2023.

The GGUSD serves most of Garden Grove and parts of Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.

Also on the agenda is consideration of a written request from West Garden Grove Youth Baseball for co-sponsorship of the 2024 Opening Day parade at a cost of $6,550.

Additionally there’s consideration of a written request from Little Saigon TV to extend the operating hours and make an exception to the city’s noise ordinance on Friday, Feb. 9 at the Garden Amp facility in the Village Green on Main Street.

Little Saigon TV will be renting theGarden Amp for a Lunar New Year’s Eve broadcasted is requesting to extend the permitted operating hours from 10 p.m. to 12:15 a.m (Sunday) and permit higher noise thresholds after 10 p.m.

The city council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
