Turn signal letter resonates with other readers

Kudos to Greg Moses for highlighting the prolific amount of Simi residents that fail to use their turns signals. All drivers know that the failure to use turn signals can lead to tragic accidents, perhaps loss of life.

I would like to make a suggestion to our City Council; Put roving traffic enforcement officers throughout the city. When they observe these scofflaws, people not using their turn signals, stop them and ticket them.

Hopefully by issuing tickets it would reduce accidents, loss of property and the potential loss of life and encourage drivers to use their turn signals. A collateral benefit might be that it would bring revenue into the city, revenue that can be used to improve traffic safety.

I concur with Greg Moses’ letter regarding the use or non-use of turn signals. It’s not as if we are asking drivers to put down their phones, stop texting while driving or even look up from your iPhone.

All we ask is just move your little finger a few inches … up or down and activate your vehicle’s turn signal. Just let the rest of the drivers around you know what your intentions are.

Also, ever see an eight-sided red sign with big white letters at crossroads? It says STOP. That means everyone, not everyone but you. Just an FYI.
