Elite boys basketball wins fourth straight game – Times Herald Online

The Elite High boys basketball team won its fourth straight game defeating Valley 67-38 on Friday night.

Sophomore Anthony Monts led the way with 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles. Both Nah’vay Pittman and Maisen McCleod chipped in 11 points, while Lemack Bellot scored nine points and had eight assist on the night. Amir Goss finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

Elite improved to 10-3 overall with the win. The Eagles return to the hardwood floor next Tuesday, as they host John Adam Academy of Roseville.

De Anza 65, Vallejo 64

The Vallejo High boys basketball team was defeated by De Anza 65-64 on Thursday night.

The game was tied at 32-all at the end of the first half, and Vallejo led by a point at the end of three quarters but couldn’t quite hold on.

Jacari Madison and Ahmari Otis each had 22 points in the win for De Anza.

Vallejo fell to 3-10 on the year with the loss.

Benicia 56, Liberty 50

The Benicia High boys basketball team defeated Liberty 56-50 in nonleague action on Friday night.

With the win the Panthers improved to 8-4 on the year.

Girls Basketball

American Canyon 57, Casa Grande 37

The American Canyon girls basketball team won its Vine Valley Athletic League opener against Casa Grade 57-37 on Friday night.

Leading the way for the Wolves was Kamaya Jones with 15 points and two assists, while Jordan Woodson had 10 points and six rebounds. Deja Montgomery added six points and three rebounds. Essie Okpalaugo had five points and three assists, Ayja Querbin and Camille Abcede each had five points, Kaiya Bryant had seven assists and four points to go with eight rebounds, while Tyra Flemming had four points and three rebounds.

The Wolves will continue league play against Napa on Monday.

Vallejo 56, Armijo 13

The Vallejo High girls basketball team cruised to a 56-13 victory over Armijo on Friday.

Leading the way for the Redhawks (4-10) was Jazmine Cardwell, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Chanel Echavez had 10 points for Vallejo. Aliyah Ashby played stellar defense with five steals.
