The Golden State Warriors are undoubtedly one of the most successful teams of the past decade or so in the NBA.
Stephen Curry has undoubtedly been at the center of those great runs during the regular season and playoffs.
Evidently, Curry has built a great reputation over the years, which has led to even head coaches around the league respecting the 35-year-old superstar.
A perfect example of this was Detroit Pistons head coach Monty Williams’ comments on Curry following the recent matchup in the 2023-24 NBA season via Legion Hoops on Twitter.
“If you can hold Stephen Curry to 26 points, you’ll take that every single time,” Williams said.

To be honest, Monty Williams’ comments about Curry can be viewed from two angles.
First, the Pistons head coach paid great respect to Curry and was proud to hold the greatest shooter of all time to just 26 points.
On the other hand, it’s certainly not a good coaching approach when a head coach is happy just to allow a player to score more than 20 points rather than trying to shut them down during the game.
Speaking of the game, the Warriors ended up registering a 113-109 win over the Pistons.
Curry finished the game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists while playing 31 minutes.
Following the win, the Warriors reached the 10th seed in the Western Conference as they improved their record to 17-18 this season.
As for Curry, he is now averaging a solid 27.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game for the Golden State Warriors this season.
The job is certainly far from over for Curry and the Warriors, as they currently hold a Play-In Tournament spot in the Western Conference.
