Tatis was 3-for-4 on Jan. 2 with two doubles, the home run, two runs batted in, two walks and two runs scored. In six playoff games through Jan. 3, Tatis is 6-for-20 with two doubles, the home run, two RBIs, two stolen bases, six walks and four runs scored.
He is hitting .300 with a .462 on-base percentage and a .550 slugging percentage for a 1.012 OPS.
Minor league catcher Michael De La Cruz is 2-for-8 in the Dominican Republic playoffs for Licey.
Two Padres minor league relievers are pitching in the Mexican Pacific League playoffs. Left-hander Omar Cruz has worked 4 2/3 scoreless innings for his hometown Hermosillo team — allowing two hits and no walks with five strikeouts. Right-hander Manuel Castro allowed one hit with two strikeouts for his native Guasave.
Outfielder Tirso Ornelas, 23, a native of Tijuana, finished the MPL regular season hitting .254 with 10 doubles, five homers, 22 RBIs and three stolen bases for a .360/.373/.734 slash line for Navojoa.
Cruz, 24, had a 1–2 record with a 4.00 earned run average and a 1.444 WHIP in 14 outings (five starts) — giving up 12 runs on 27 hits and 12 walks with 28 strikeouts in 27 innings.
