Emma Stone was feeling the love after winning Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for the film Poor Things at this year’s Golden Globe Awards.
The La La Land alum’s bestie and fellow nominee Taylor Swift was loud and proud upon her win, standing and cheering so enthusiastically that it sparked a series of memes from their fans, with one calling the “When Emma Falls in Love” songstress “so kind and generous” for her support.
Stone, on the other hand, had some other thoughts about her “cheerleader,” jokingly calling her an “a–hole” for the display.
In video footage from the untelevised post-ceremony press room uploaded by The Hollywood Reporter, after someone asked her how it felt to have Swift cheering so hard for her, she quipped, “What an a–hole, am I right?” before pretending to walk away from the mic, as though that was her only thought on the subject.
“No, I’ve known her for almost 20 years,” she continued. “I was happy she was there. She was also nominated tonight, which was wonderful.”
“What an a–hole!” she threw out one more time before exiting the stage.

Her tongue-in-cheek comments followed the ceremony’s host Jo Koy‘s failed attempt to rake in laughter at the singer’s expense when he poked fun at the NFL’s continuous media coverage of her appearance at beau Travis Kelce’s games—something the tight end himself has spoken out against.
But neither Swift nor her fans were amused when Koy asked, “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL?” before answering, “We have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”
Of course, the camera immediately focused in on the record-breaking touring artist, who was visibly unimpressed with the commentary, giving a deadpan look as she sipped her drink.
After all, it’s 2024—making Taylor Swift the butt of every joke is so out. Unless, of course, you’re Emma Stone.
