Six branches of the Sonoma County Library are expected to get some work done this year. The Press Democrat reports that the most notable two will be in Petaluma and Healdsburg. Both will get new flooring, furniture and shelving as well as relocated circulation desks. Safety improvements will also be done at the Petaluma Branch including replacing the fire suppression system and installing seismic bracing for the bookshelves. The Healdsburg Branch will get a new teen space as well as upgrades to the building’s exterior and improvements to HVAC and electrical systems and restrooms. Upgrades are also coming to the Northwest Santa Rosa Library, Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library, Guerneville Regional Library and the History and Genealogy Library. The facilities will close during construction but visitors will still be able to access books and other materials online or at temporary locations.
