Isobel Crosswhite posted a double-double as three Mariners scored in double figures to defeat Mendocino, 60-35, Wednesday. Crosswhite had 18 points and 10 rebounds for College of Marin, followed by A’liyah Holmes with 17 and Ty Chappell with 16. The Mariners outscored Mendocino 34-18 in the second half. Samantha Morris grabbed 14 rebounds for the Mariners (8-9, 2-1), who face Contra Costa on Jan. 17.
Men’s basketball
College of Marin lost a close game with Mendocino, 79-74, on Wednesday. The Mariners (5-11, 2-2) host Los Medanos on Friday.
Girls basketball
Carly Amborn scored 28 points as San Domenico surged past University, 56-46, on Wednesday evening. The Panthers (8-8, 200 BCL) trailed, 19-11, after the first quarter, but held the Red Devils (12-2, 1-1) to just 27 points for the rest of the game.
• Marin Academy got off to a solid start, but could not sustain its offense in Wednesday’s 64-38 loss to Lick-Wilmerding. The Wildcats (9-4, 1-1) are scheduled to play University on Friday.
Boys basketball
Marin Academy fell to Lick-Wilmerding, 54-41, on Wednesday. The Wildcats (5-11, 0-2) are scheduled to play San Domenico (9-5, 0-1) on Wednesday in a BCL showdown. San Domenico lost its BCL opener against University, 63-44, on Wednesday.
